And the start of Sony. Following the defeat of Japan in World War 2 Sony’s founder, Masaru Ibuka, attempted to invent an Eletric Rice Cooker. It was released under the banner of the Tokyo Telecommunications Research Institute and was well hidden in the guise of a wooden bucket. Most times the rice cooker was used, it brought some very undesirable results; examples of this were severely undercooked or overcooked rice. The product was never released on the market, and its legacy still lives on in a glass cabinet at the Sony Archives in Shinagawa.
